Free Country: A Penniless Adventure the Length of Britain

A penniless adventure the length of Britain……

This could have been the most awful laddish romp, but it turned out to be what they aimed for; an affirmation that people in the UK are still basically nice, that we’re still ok.  The opening with the two in their boxers was great, and it was refreshing not to have any great amount of navel gazing as to why and how etc. I would liked to hear a bit more of what happened when they were turned down, did anyone else have a gun beside the Gamekeeper?

What I hope more is that people don’t piggy back on this, even on the same route, exploiting the charity and help, so that our unhelpful side re-asserts itself.  This book was well written and readable which is where a lot of these books let themselves down, enjoy!
