Knowing me, Knowing you by Mandy Baggot

This is book has so many of the key ingredients of a good read that it was possible it could slip into parody but it didn’t.  The original premise wasn’t too promising, with yet another abandoned mother struggling to cope with single life with a kid and find a date. It’s humour and Englishness held me until Kate is pushed into using an Escort agency to find her date by her childminding mate Hermione

She meets the lovely Joel, and on the night end they up having to take part in the Knowing me, Knowing you competition very – like the original Mr and Mrs on the TV.

The scene is then set for love complications, a swine of an ex husband, a nasty boss, and Joel not being quite the uncomplicated stud he seems to be.  It’s a great, funny romp, and I’m so jealous of Mandy as she’s a self publisher whose been taken up my a major publishing house but she deserves  it and shows there’s hope for us all!
